Reasoning
Campbell & Klassen in possession of the necessary
level of softball connections, knowing oodles of players
with the talent required for world class slow pitch
conquest, would be the future cradle of senior slow
pitch humanity.
As future
benevolent tyrants,
assistant
Campbell & Klassen would surely provide the resources to
MSPC to go forth and build senior slow pitch power-houses
at various age levels unfettered by the ordinary limitations
of player resources. Lacking not in such resources they
should be able to dominate the
seniors
program using methods of co-operation, negotiation, diplomacy,
and tact to lure players over.
We, of
course, also approved bribery and even employing
chemical weapons derived from Molson fumes, as a sort of
'extra incentive' for the persuasion of those players
who would, incredibly, not be swayed by the absolute logic
and rationality of MSPC seniors domination quest.

Full of fervor and good intentions, George Masters a tranplant
from Petersfield Manitoba and long time friend Gary McConnell
former Royal City 3rd baseman decided on April 01, 2000
to form the Marauders Slow Pitch Club (MSPC). After considerable
debate and effort looking for fellow cohorts and patriots
in the softball field. We were delighted to discover that
slow pitch icons Saulnier, Campbell, Klassen, Stewart,
Fraser & McMitchell were of appropriate age and
if offered the right enticements, available to join the ranks
of the MSPC staff. These fine slow pitch patriots introduced
us to so many of our now loyal followers who are eager to further
our cause in senior slow pitch by assisting wherever and whenever
they are able!
The
newly formed MSPC staff exhausted their creative capacities
and painstakingly put in place the pieces needed for
a sustainable power-house. They devised a new logo for the t-shirts
and web site for the pleasure of other patriotic slow
pitch players of the future.
The
logo is, as you must notice, somewhat fiery, this intense
flame like action being intended to symbolize the
relentless action of a hot senior slow pitch club. Although
several designs were commissioned, this image spoke to the brain
trust. All were much impressed by the bold lettering and
particularly by the aforementioned fiery blazing action.
True to Marauder form, the logo is unpretentious, stylish yet
subdued, seemingly harmless but with pokey bits and sharp edges,
aware of its inherent coolness yet without an insufferable "rippling
flag" gif which we are all very sick of thank you very
much!
The
history continues from 2000 until the present the awards keep
piling up as the Marauders continue to dominate in the senior
slopitch class . They are now Provincial, Canadian and World
champs look for them to continue as Jim Klassen { Director
of Player Personel } for the 50+ Marauders and { Gord Campbell
Director of Player Personel } for the Marauder Vets continue
their search for the best quality players available to join
the Marauders
